MS is a progressive, incurable autoimmune disease that attacks the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves by disrupting the signals that control nearly everything the body does. No two cases are the same, earning it the name "the snowflake disease." But what every patient shares is the same cruel uncertainty: not knowing what MS will take next.
About Race to Erase MS
Race to Erase MS is a foundation dedicated to funding research toward the treatment and cure of Multiple Sclerosis. Operating through its Center Without Walls program, the foundation connects a nationwide network of top MS research centers, bringing together physicians and scientists to collaborate on cutting-edge therapeutic approaches. The foundation also works to raise public awareness about the disease.

Since its founding, Race to Erase MS has demonstrated strong financial stewardship, raising over $57 million in contributions while spending only 12 cents per dollar on fundraising. More than 71% of all spending has gone directly to program activities, with over $35 million funded in MS research grants, reflecting the foundation's commitment to maximizing its impact.

The foundation's efforts have contributed to meaningful scientific progress, including research that supported the development of Ocrevus, the first FDA-approved therapy for primary progressive MS. Today, there are 25 FDA-approved drugs to help slow MS progression, and the outlook for newly diagnosed patients continues to improve as more therapies advance through development.
